Foster Information

Fostering is valuable for both the Rescue and the animals in need. We ask that fosters provide the love, socialization, and training that they need. S.A.M. will provide the vet care and basic supplies. We ask that as a foster you commit to the animal from intake until they are adopted. Many of the animals we rescue come from imperfect backgrounds and may need additional love, medicine, or training before being placed up for adoption. Though these animals may require additional effort, it is a rewarding experience like no other to see the animal placed in a forever home. We depend on you to keep saving animals

We Ask That You Are Able To Do The Following:

♥ Introduce your foster to home life which may include socialization, exercise, and training including but not limited to house training, crate training, and leash training

♥ Bring your foster animal to vet appointments as needed. We currently work with vets in Garrison, Duluth, and Pierz. In addition, you will need to give oral and topical medications as needed (flea/tick prevention, dewormer, etc.)

♥ Network your foster animal for adoption including taking photos and writing a bio for the website. We also ask that you try to bring your foster to adoption events that are hosted in Brainerd and Duluth when available.

♥ Contact potential adopters when you receive an adoption application. You will need to set up time for a meet and greet, have adoption application and contract on hand, and a copy of your fosters vet records. If the adoption is complete, you are required to follow the adoption process and scan & submit all paperwork via email.

♥ You must be 18 or older to legally foster for SAM

If you are interested in fostering, please fill out a foster application. If you have any further questions, please send an email to foster.scoobysanimalmission@gmail.com
